Uttarakhand Backpacking Trip to Jim Corbett Chopta Rishikesh

The state of Uttarakhand also known as “Devbhoomi” and “Land of the Gods”, with its mystifying valleys, majestic mountain peaks, untamed rivers, dense forests, and conservation reserves has managed to enamor travelers from not just India but all over the world. 

From spiritual enlightenment that provides inner peace and calms your mind to a strong rush of adrenaline that gets your blood pumping, Uttarakhand has an array of activities suited for both thrill seekers as well as nature lovers who are looking for an escape. 

This backpacking trip from Delhi to Uttarakhand covers some of the most beautiful and serene places in Uttarakhand that you should tick off of your bucket list.  

In this Uttarakhand backpacking tour package, we start our trip with Jim Corbett. It is the oldest national park in Asia known for its blend of nature and culture.  Here, we’ll visit the sacred Garjia Devi Temple which is a holy Shakti Shrine. We’ll also visit Corbett Falls which is a scenic waterfall surrounded by lush green forests. Lastly, we’ll visit the Corbett Museum which is also the heritage bungalow of Jim Corbett. 

Afterward, we’ll head towards the Holy city of Rishikesh which is the perfect blend of serenity and adventure offering thrilling adventures as well as the opportunity to immerse yourself in the divine energy that overflows on the bank of river Ganga. From offering adventure activities such as rafting, rock climbing, and rappelling to cliff jumping, Rishikesh also known as the Yoga Capital of the world, is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Uttarakhand.

Itinerary

(Delhi to Delhi)

    • The group will assemble at the pick-up point at 11:30 PM (tentative).
    • After a brief introduction session given by the Trip Captain, we will head towards Jim Corbett. 

    Note: The pickup point would be Akshardham Metro Station.

  • Upon reaching Jim Corbett, We’ll freshen up and head out for a sightseeing tour.
  • We’ll visit the sacred Garjia Devi Temple followed by a visit to the Corbett Falls which is a scenic waterfall surrounded by lush green forests. Lastly, we’ll visit the Corbett Museum which is also the heritage bungalow of Jim Corbett.
  • After our sightseeing tour, we’ll check in to our designated hotel where we’ll have dinner followed by an overnight stay.

  • We’ll head out for Jungle Safari where you’ll be able to witness nature in all its raw glory and spot many rare animals and birds as well.
  • After breakfast, we’ll check out of our hotel and head towards Rishikesh.
  • Upon reaching Rishikesh, we will check into our designated stays and head out for a local sightseeing tour where we’d be visiting the iconic Beatles Ashram, Ram Jhula, and Lakshman Jhula. In the evening, we will witness the holy Ganga Aarti. 
  • Dinner followed by an overnight stay in Rishikesh.

Note: A visit to the Beatles Ashram is subject to time. 

  • Post breakfast, we will check out of our designated stays and head out for River Rafting in the tidal waves of the mighty Ganga.
  • Afterward, we’ll head towards Chopta which is a small region in Uttarakhand adorned with lush green meadows and is the base camp for the Tungnath trek.
  • Upon arrival, we will check into our campsites at Chopta where we’ll have dinner followed by an overnight stay.
  • After early morning breakfast, we’ll head out for our Chandrashilla trek.
  • En route, we’d be traversing through Tungnath which is situated at an elevation of 12,106 ft and is the Highest Shiva Temple in the World.
  • At an altitude of 12, 110 ft, the Chandrashila top offers majestic views of Nanda Devi, Trisul, Kedar Peak, Bandarpunch, and Chaukhamba peaks. After spending some time at the top, marveling at the beauty of the Himalayas, we will head back to our campsite.
  • Dinner followed by an overnight stay in camps.
  • After early morning breakfast, we will check out of our hotels and head out for a trek to Jalori Pass. The trek leads you to the 360º viewpoint which offers a stunning view of the entire valley along with the Pir Panjal ranges of the Himalayas from
  • After traversing through Jalori Pass, we will also visit the pristine Sirolsar Lake which is a high-altitude lake nestled amidst alpine forests. Just beside the lake, there is a temple that holds extreme significance for the locals where you can pay your respects as well.
  • Afterward, we will descend and head towards Bhuntar/ Aut and board an overnight bus for Delhi.
  • We will arrive in Delhi by early morning.
  • The group will part ways with fond memories. End of Tour.
