Ride through the sacred valleys of Kumaon to Adi Kailash (6,310 m) - the Indian Kailash Mansarovar accessible within India. Witness the divine Om (ॐ) symbol on Om Parvat formed by eternal snow, trek to Parvati Sarovar at 4,700 m, and experience the mythical Kuti Village - believed to be the Kunti village of the Mahabharata.
About the Yatra
Adi Kailash (आदि कैलाश), also known as Chhota Kailash, is a sacred peak in the Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand, nestled along the India-Tibet border. Rising to 6,310 metres (20,703 feet), it is revered as Lord Shiva's earthly abode - a spiritual twin of the legendary Kailash Mansarovar in Tibet, accessible entirely within India.
Adjacent to Adi Kailash stands Om Parvat (6,191 m / 20,312 ft), where a natural formation of snow creates the shape of the sacred ॐ symbol - visible from the Nabi valley and considered one of the most divine sights in the Himalayas.
Our 9-day Adi Kailash bike tour takes you through the restricted high-altitude border zone on Royal Enfield motorcycles, covering scenic passes, ancient villages, and high-altitude lakes - an expedition combining spirituality, adventure, and raw Himalayan grandeur.

The spiritual highlight of the yatra: 3 km trek from Shivalaya to Parvati Sarovar - a glacial lake at 4,700 m believed to be the bathing spot of Goddess Parvati. Crystal-clear waters reflecting the snow peaks create an otherworldly atmosphere. Return to base camp for second darshan of Adi Kailash at golden hour.

Adi Kailash reaches altitudes where Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) is a real risk. Read carefully.
AMS symptoms can begin above 3,000 m. Gunji (3,400 m) is where most people first feel the effects. By Parvati Sarovar (4,700 m), unacclimatised individuals face serious risk.
Headache (most common), nausea/vomiting, dizziness, fatigue, loss of appetite, breathlessness at rest, difficulty sleeping. Do not ignore these signs.
Consult your doctor about Diamox 250 mg as a prophylactic. Typically started 1–2 days before ascent. We recommend medical consultation before booking.
Drink 3–4 litres of water per day from Gunji onwards. Avoid alcohol for the first 2–3 days at altitude. Avoid sleeping pills.
Our itinerary builds in an acclimatisation day at Gunji (3,400 m) before ascending to the base camp. Never skip acclimatisation rest days.
Our leaders carry supplemental oxygen and a Gamow bag. In severe AMS, the only cure is immediate descent. ITBP rescue assistance is available in the border zone.
Packing Guide

Yes. Kailash Mansarovar is located in Tibet (China) and requires a Chinese visa - currently very difficult for Indian citizens to obtain. Adi Kailash (also called Chhota Kailash) is entirely within India in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand. It is considered equally sacred by devotees, with similar Shiva significance, and is accessible to Indian nationals with an Inner Line Permit.
Dharchula to Adi Kailash base camp (Shivalaya) is approximately 115 km by road (via Gunji → Kuti) plus a 7 km trek. The road section takes 4–5 hrs due to mountain terrain, narrow roads, and potential checkpost delays. Riding beyond Dharchula requires an Inner Line Permit.
Yes. This is an advanced Himalayan motorcycle tour. We recommend at least 2 years of riding experience and prior exposure to hill or mountain roads. You should be comfortable riding on gravel, loose stones, and narrow switchbacks. Beginners should complete a hill riding course before joining. All riders must hold a valid motorcycle licence.
