About This Tour

Badri Kedar Bike Tour — India's Most Sacred 6-Day Ride

The Badri Kedar bike tour is arguably the most spiritually powerful road journey in India. You ride from Rishikesh through the Garhwal Himalayas, visiting the two most sacred shrines of the Char Dham — Kedarnath (abode of Lord Shiva, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas) and Badrinath (abode of Lord Vishnu) — on a Royal Enfield motorcycle.

The route takes you through all five sacred Panch Prayag confluences of the Alaknanda river system — Devprayag, Rudraprayag, Karnaprayag, Nandaprayag, and Vishnuprayag. Each confluence holds deep spiritual significance and offers stunning natural beauty.

At Badrinath, you also visit Mana Village — India's last inhabited village before the Tibet border, just 3 km from the Badrinath temple. This tour is a complete pilgrimage and adventure experience on two wheels.

Panch Prayag — You Pass All 5 Sacred Confluences

The Badri Kedar route follows the Alaknanda river from Devprayag to Badrinath — passing through all five Panch Prayag (sacred confluences) of Uttarakhand. This is the same ancient pilgrimage path that Adi Shankaracharya walked.

1
Devprayag
Alaknanda + Bhagirathi = Ganga is born here
2
Rudraprayag
Alaknanda + Mandakini (Kedarnath river)
3
Karnaprayag
Alaknanda + Pindar (Pindar Valley)
4
Nandaprayag
Alaknanda + Nandakini (Nanda Valley)
5
Vishnuprayag
Alaknanda + Dhauliganga (Near Joshimath)
Your bike ride follows the Alaknanda river for most of the route — from Devprayag to Badrinath. You cross rivers, ride over suspension bridges, and see sacred ghats at each prayag. No other Uttarakhand bike tour covers all 5 Panch Prayag in a single trip.

Rishikesh → Sonprayag

120 km · 5–6 hrs 1,182m

Your Badri Kedar yatra begins at sunrise in Rishikesh. Ride along the Ganges through the lower Garhwal hills. The first major stop is Devprayag — the most sacred of all Panch Prayag, where the Bhagirathi and Alaknanda rivers merge to form the Ganga. Watch the two rivers — one milky blue, one dark green — visibly distinct as they join. Continue to Karnaprayag (Alaknanda + Pindar) and finally reach Sonprayag by evening. Check in and rest.

Sonprayag → Kedarnath Dham (Star Day)

18 km trek or helicopter 3,583m Temple Visit

This is the day you visit one of the most powerful sacred sites in India. From Sonprayag, ride to Gaurikund where the trek begins. Stop at the Gaurikund hot spring (natural hot water kund named after Parvati Mata) before the climb. Trek 18 km through stunning alpine meadows and glacial landscapes to reach Kedarnath Temple at 3,583 meters — one of the 12 Jyotirlingas and a shrine of incomparable spiritual power. Attend the evening Aarti. Return to Sonprayag for the night. Helicopter option available from Phata/Sitapur (separate charges apply).

Kedarnath → Guptkashi

40 km · 2–3 hrs 1,319m

A shorter, relaxed riding day after the Kedarnath trek. Descend from Gaurikund and ride to Guptkashi — a town with deep mythological significance. It is said that Lord Shiva hid here in the form of a bull during the Pandavas' search. Visit the Vishwanath Temple (a smaller replica of Kashi Vishwanath) and the Ardhanarishwar Temple which depicts the half-male, half-female form of Shiva-Parvati. Enjoy a peaceful evening and prepare for the long ride to Badrinath tomorrow.

Guptkashi → Badrinath Dham (via Chopta & Joshimath)

210 km · 7–8 hrs 3,133m Longest & Most Scenic Day

The most scenic riding day of the tour. Start early for the 210 km journey to Badrinath. Pass through Chopta — called the "Mini Switzerland of India" — a high-altitude meadow with panoramic Himalayan views. Then Joshimath where you stop at the ancient Narsingh Temple. From Joshimath, cross Vishnuprayag (Alaknanda + Dhauliganga — the 5th Panch Prayag) and climb to Badrinath Dham at 3,133 meters. Take a dip in Tapt Kund (natural hot spring) and attend the evening aarti at the Badrinath temple. Then ride 3 km to Mana Village — India's last village before the China border.

Badrinath → Rudraprayag

160 km · 5–6 hrs 890m

Begin the return journey after morning aarti at Badrinath temple. Ride back through Joshimath and descend along the Alaknanda valley. Stop at Karnaprayag for a brief rest — this is where the Pindar river meets the Alaknanda, another of the Panch Prayag. Continue to Rudraprayag where the Mandakini (Kedarnath's river) meets the Alaknanda in a beautiful confluence. This is a deeply peaceful evening — you are returning from one of the greatest pilgrimages in India.

Rudraprayag → Rishikesh — Return Home

160 km · 4–5 hrs 372m (Rishikesh)

The final ride back to Rishikesh. Pass through Devprayag once more — this time you know the river names, you have ridden to their sources, and you understand why this land is called Devbhoomi (Land of Gods). Arrive in Rishikesh by afternoon. Your Badri Kedar yatra is complete. 6 days, 2 sacred Dhams, 5 holy confluences, and memories that will stay with you forever.

Bonus Destination on Day 4

Mana Village — India's Last Village Before Tibet

Mana Village holds a special place in the hearts of every traveler who reaches it. Located just 3 km from Badrinath temple, it is the last inhabited village of India before the Indo-China (Tibet) border. Beyond Mana, the road to China begins and no civilians are allowed.

Despite its remote location, Mana is richly connected to Hindu mythology. This is where the Saraswati river — the lost sacred river of the Vedas — visibly emerges from a rock and flows for a short distance before disappearing underground again. The famous Bheem Pul (a massive natural rock bridge) was allegedly used by the Pandavas during their Swargarohini journey.

A short walk from the village takes you to the gorgeous Vasudhara Falls — 122-meter high waterfall that locals believe only the pure of heart can feel the water from (the drops curve away from sinners, they say).
