Ride a Royal Enfield through the sacred Garhwal Himalayas and touch all four Char Dham shrines — Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath — plus the magical Chopta Tungnath trek and the hidden Harshil Valley. The most complete Himalayan yatra on two wheels.
The Uttarakhand Char Dham are four of the holiest pilgrimage sites in Hinduism — all located in the Garhwal Himalayas. This bike tour visits all four in the traditional order as prescribed by Adi Shankaracharya: Yamunotri → Gangotri → Kedarnath → Badrinath.
The westernmost Dham. Source of the sacred Yamuna river. Known for Surya Kund (boiling hot spring) and the ancient Yamunotri temple. Reached by a 14 km trek from Janki Chatti.
The sacred source of the Ganga river. The Gangotri temple sits on the banks of Bhagirathi river. The actual glacier (Gaumukh) is 18 km away. Includes the stunning Harshil Valley on the way.
One of the 12 Jyotirlingas and the most revered Shiva temple in India. At 3,583m, surrounded by glaciers. Reached by 18 km trek. The Kedarnath temple stood through the 2013 floods due to divine protection.
The holiest of the four Char Dham for Vaishnavites. The Badrinath temple is between Nar and Narayan peaks. Tapt Kund hot spring nearby. Mana Village (last Indian village) just 3 km away.
From Rishikesh through the entire Garhwal Himalayas and back. 4 Dhams, Harshil Valley, Chopta Tungnath trek, and all Panch Prayag. Total 1,400+ km riding distance.

Char Dham Route
Arrive in Rishikesh and check into your hotel. In the evening, attend the famous Ganga Aarti at Parmarth Niketan Ghat — a beautiful, soul-stirring ceremony that sets the spiritual tone for the Chardham yatra ahead. After dinner, our tour leader gives a complete briefing: route, bikes, gear, safety, rules.
First big riding day. Leave Rishikesh early and ride toward the Yamuna valley. Pass through Mussoorie hill town and stop at the spectacular Kempty Falls — a 40-foot cascading waterfall. Continue to Barkot, a beautiful town on the banks of the Yamuna river, your base for the Yamunotri trek tomorrow.
The first sacred destination of the Chardham yatra. Ride to Janki Chatti and begin the 14 km trek to Yamunotri temple. Along the way, soak feet in the Surya Kund — a natural boiling hot spring. At Yamunotri, the Yamuna river emerges from the Champasar Glacier far above. Offer prayers at the temple. Cook rice in Surya Kund's boiling water as prasad (a local tradition). Trek back to Janki Chatti and return to Barkot.
Ride from Barkot to Uttarkashi along the Bhagirathi river valley. Stop at the Prakateshwar Cave and explore Uttarkashi town. Then continue to the breathtaking Harshil Valley — a hidden gem at 2,620m, famous for its apple orchards, dense deodar forests, and the crystal-clear Bhagirathi river. This is one of the most beautiful and least-known valleys in all of Uttarakhand. Overnight at Harshil.
Today the Ganga is born. Ride from Harshil up to Gangotri where the Bhagirathi river emerges from the Himalayas in full force. Visit the revered Gangotri temple built in 1737 AD and take a dip in the sacred Bhagirathi. The views of the glacier-fed river surrounded by snow peaks are otherworldly. After blessings, ride back down to Uttarkashi for the night.
Longest riding day of the tour. Descend from Uttarkashi and pass through the impressive Tehri Dam — one of the tallest dams in Asia. Reach Devprayag where the Bhagirathi and Alaknanda rivers merge to form the holy Ganga. Continue to Rudraprayag (Alaknanda + Mandakini confluence) — your gateway to Kedarnath. Overnight at Sonprayag or Guptkashi.
The most powerful day of the Chardham yatra. Ride to Gaurikund (start of the trek) and dip at the Gaurikund hot spring. Begin the 18 km ascent through alpine meadows to reach Kedarnath temple at 3,583 meters — one of India's 12 Jyotirlingas. The massive stone temple, the surrounding glacier landscape, and the evening aarti create an experience impossible to describe. Stay overnight at Kedarnath.
Wake up at 4 AM for the early morning darshan at Kedarnath temple — the most sacred moment of the entire yatra. The pre-dawn atmosphere, the brass lamps, the mountain air, and the deep resonance of the Shiva prayers is unforgettable. After breakfast, begin the 18 km trek back down. Reach Sonprayag by afternoon for rest. Evening: discuss the next day's plan for Chopta and Badrinath.
One of the most beautiful days of the tour. Ride 80 km to Chopta — called "Mini Switzerland of India" — a high-altitude meadow with sweeping views of the Garhwal Himalayan peaks: Trisul, Nanda Devi, and Chaukhamba. From Chopta, trek 4 km to Tungnath temple (3,680m) — the world's highest Shiva temple. Those who want more can continue 1 km to Chandrashila summit (4,000m) for 360° Himalayan views. Camp night at Chopta.
The final Dham. Ride from Chopta through Gopeshwar, Chamoli, and Joshimath (visit the Narsingh Temple) to reach Badrinath — the holiest of all Char Dham for Vaishnavites. Take a dip in Tapt Kund hot spring and attend the Badrinath evening aarti. Then ride 3 km to Mana Village — India's last inhabited village before the Tibet border. See the Saraswati river emerge from a rock, cross the ancient Bheem Pul, and feel the profound energy of being at the edge of India.
The final riding day. Start early at 4 AM for morning darshan at Badrinath. After breakfast, begin the long 300 km descent back to Rishikesh — through Joshimath, Vishnuprayag, Rudraprayag, Devprayag. At Devprayag, you see again where the Bhagirathi and Alaknanda meet to become the Ganga — a river you have now traced all the way to its source. Arrive Rishikesh by evening. Celebration dinner with the group.
Breakfast and check-out. Your 12-day Chardham yatra on Royal Enfield is complete. You have ridden 1,400+ km, visited all 4 Char Dham, stood at the source of both the Yamuna and the Ganga, trekked to the world's highest Shiva temple, and crossed India at its sacred heart. No journey quite matches this. You leave Rishikesh changed.
Day 9 of the Chardham bike tour is a surprise highlight that most pilgrims never get to experience. Chopta is a pristine high-altitude meadow at 2,680m in Rudraprayag district — nicknamed the "Mini Switzerland of India" for its sweeping green valleys, snow-capped peaks, and completely untouched natural beauty.
From Chopta, a moderately easy 4 km trek takes you to Tungnath temple — at 3,680 meters, the highest Shiva temple in the world. This is one of the five Panch Kedar temples. From Tungnath, the views of Trisul (7,120m), Nanda Devi (7,816m), Chaukhamba, and Kedarnath peaks are absolutely extraordinary.
Adventure seekers can continue 1 km more to Chandrashila summit (4,000m) for a 360-degree panoramic view of the entire Garhwal Himalayan range. The sunrise from Chandrashila is considered one of the most beautiful in all of India.

"The Chopta Tungnath day was the biggest surprise. I had no idea such a beautiful place existed — Trisul and Nanda Devi right in your face from 3,680 meters. Plus all 4 Dhams. And Harshil Valley on day 4 was like a secret Switzerland nobody told me about. Best 12 days of my life."

"I came as a solo traveler with zero expectations and left with 9 brothers. The Kedarnath 4 AM aarti, Gangotri temple at dawn, Mana Village at India's last road — no tour bus gives you this. Riding a Royal Enfield through the Himalayas to all 4 Char Dham is simply the greatest thing I have ever done."
